Perlane

What does Perlane treat?

Perlane is a dermal filler composed of hyaluronic acid set in a crystal clear gel. It’s used to soften fine lines and wrinkles, including large folds, such as the "smile" and "marionette" lines around the mouth that deepen with age. Perlane is also popular for lip augmentation and for reducing the appearance of acne scars and other facial depressions

The treatment process

Because Perlane is a non-animal product, no allergy testing is required before treatment. The filler is injected into the skin with an ultrafine needle. The procedure takes 30-45 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area. Pain is minimal—similar to that of any other needle injection. If you’re concerned about the pain, ask your doctor to apply a topical anesthetic before the procedure starts.

What you can expect with Perlane

As with all dermal fillers, you’ll probably experience some swelling and redness for a few days. In rare cases, patients develop small red bumps around the Perlane injection site. Results—smoother, fuller skin—are noticeable within days and may effectively last for 6-8 months.
